Information Systems
The major of Information Systems has as main goal forming professionals capable of creating, contracting, projecting, developing and using information systems to solve management and technological problems of various organizations. It forms professionals with strong social commitment and technical responsibility adequate to the comprehension of technical phenomena and their impacts, with ethical posture and high competence at consulting, elaboration, development and execution of projects with business, scientific and technological basis.
In this major, students participate in theoretical and practical classes, receiving basic formation in mathematics and statistic, and applied formation in algorithms, software engineering, database, systems management, besides generalist formation in their professional acting fields. Students will go through special activities, like seminars, congresses, scientific initiation, extension initiation, internships and final thesis. The professional may go to the labor market or choose academic and research career, contributing to the technological development of the country.
