UFLA's nutrition major aims at forming generalist, technically competent professionals with creative, critical, humanized attributes and with social commitment awareness.

At the of the course, professionals will be able to act, guided by ethical principles, in the different fields linked to feeding and nutrition, developing assistance, education, coordination, planning, and management actions, adjusting their actions according to the economic, political, social and cultural reality, in such a way to rationally use the available resources. They can act pursuant their interest and affinity in the fields of Collective Feeding, Clinic Nutrition, Collective Health, Teaching, Feeding Industry, Marketing, and Sport Nutrition. Besides the most common areas, field such as hotel business, commercial restaurants, nutrition consultancy, in industrial and household level, and natural and alternative nutrition are fields not yet totally explored, but they have been increasingly growing every day.
