Veterinary Medicine
Veterinary Medicine's major aims at forming professionals to the broad activity of their professional attributions, providing them with theoretical knowledge and skills in the following fields: 1. at animals clinic and surgery in all their modalities; 2. at animal origin products technology, inspection and monitoring; 3. at teaching, management and technical execution of biotechnologies and reproduction physiopathology; 4. at the execution and management of Public Health and Animal Sanitary Defense actions; 5. at animal and laboratory examining and research applied to general biology, animal science and bromatology; 6.at research, planning, technical direction, fostering, orientation, execution and control of any work related to animal production; 7. at medical-veterinarian courses teaching and at sections and laboratories direction; 8. at the technical and sanitary orientation of industrial, commercial or leisure objective establishments related to animals or its products; 9. at conducting examinations and interpreting technical reports in all veterinary fields of knowledge; 10. at technical consultancy for various federal public management bodies in Brazil or overseas in what concerns to production, industry and animal sanity matters.
This major develops skills, competences and critical sense for a general professional acting and for its continuing education management, besides softened activities which provide students with formation at their field of interest. It also pursues the focus on Human and Social Sciences, for a more human professional formation.
