Chemical Engineering aims at the formation of professionals dedicated to the elaboration of projects, installation and operation of industries, as well as the development of new physical-chemical transformation processes. The Chemical Engineers have a professional profile that makes them able to act competently at different positions in various industrial sectors, consultancy and projects companies, planning, research and teaching institutions (both public or private), as well as the management of their own business. The chemical engineer may act in the fields of Research and Development  of Chemical Processes; Equipment Projects of the Chemical Industry; Chemical Installations implementation and operation; Chemical Products Production Controlling; Chemical Products Quality Controlling; Chemical Processes Management and Analysis; Chemical Processes and projects Consultancy; Technical Assistance and Selling; Teaching and Research.

The formation of these professional is based on a pedagogical proposal which prioritizes the students insertion in projects of academic/professional formation.

These projects aim to develop the students autonomy focusing on "learning how to do" and have nature of Summary and Integration of Knowledge built along the course. These activities have focus on the engineer practical activity, involving the elaboration and development of projects of engineering and the experience in the labor world.
