It is the field among the various types of engineering dedicated to the technological procedures at mechanical production and at the equipment and facilities usage destined to this specialized production. Mechanical Engineers has a professional profile that makes them able to act competently at different positions in various companies, planning, research and extension institutions (both public or private), as well as at their own business.

These professionals will be able to develop the following activities: 1) Master the production process at its different phases; 2) Produce and disseminate new knowledge, technologies, services and products; 3) Project, produce and test tools, motors, machines and other mechanical devices; 4) develop post-cropping machines and equipments, both for the processing and for the storing; 5) develop equipments and machines for agricultural and forest production; 6) Develop new materials to be used in structural projects of machines and equipments; 7) Comprehend the mechanical properties of biological material; aiming to project and plan agricultural products nesting and transport logistics; 8) Elaborate and execute mechanical systems project in automobile industries; 9) Act in the mechanic industry in general, both at the production processes and at its maintenance; 10) Identify the impacts resulted from the actions of the Mechanical Engineer on the environment and on the social context; 11) guide their decision by ethic and moral values which preserve the rights of other citizens, among others.
