The Forest Engineering aims to form professionals dedicated to forest production and environment management, aiming at the preservation, maintenance and sustainable usage of forest ecosystems. Forest engineers have a professional profile that makes possible the acting in different positions at forest companies, planning, research and teaching institutions (both private or public), as well as in the management of their own business. These professionals may act in the Ecology fields; in the Natural Resources management and conservation; Forest Management and Wood Technology and in non-logging Forest Products.    

The preparation in these areas is based on classes with theoretical contents and practical classes at experimental and production fields (forest seed collecting; seedlings productions at forest vivaria, forest insert and conduction, tree species identification, forest measurement and management, resins and oil extraction, plague and fire control, among others), at laboratories (chemistry, physics, molecular markers, wood mechanic, cellulose and paper production, panels, soils analysis, geo-processing, among others) and also visits to Forest and Conservation Companies.
