Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering is the branch of technologic sciences that unites the knowledge and techniques applied to building houses, buildings, roads, tunnels, overpasses, levees, canals, harbors, airports, as well as other infrastructural construction works. The Bachelor in Civil Engineering, or Civil Engineer, can act in the fields of Structural Engineering; Geotechnical Engineering; Transportation; Hydraulic and Sanitation; and Material and Civil Construction, in a general way, in conception, planning, project, construction, operation and maintaining of several construction works.
The professional is responsible for making budgets, guarantying standardization, performing measurements and quality control, accompanying installation, assemblage, operation, repair and construction work maintaining groups.
The graduate executes technical designs and is responsible for analyzing , experimenting, rehearsing, publishing and specialized technical production. Coordinates and oversees work groups, realizes scientific and technological research and studies of technical and economic viability; executes and controls technical services; performs inspections, forensics and evaluations, issuing reports and assessments. In the field, it takes ethics, security, economy, legislation and environmental impacts into consideration.
