Agronomy
Agronomy aims to prepare professional of agronomic engineering, making them capable of research production, of decision making and problems solving, in order to operate, modify and create farming and agro-industrial systems, always being aware of social, ethic and sustainable aspects. In order to meet these goals, along the course, students participate in theoretical and practical activities, make quantitative, qualitative, visual and instrumental analysis, in-field and in-lab, keeping direct and constant contact with the agricultural sciences universe.
In this environment, students have the opportunity of analyzing, understanding and adopting way to establish a respectful and harmonic relation with the natural resources, aiming to contribute to the common an sustainable well-fare.
The agronomic engineer works at institutions and companies, both public and private, developing research work, technical assistance and rural extension. In the field of researching, they are responsible for generating new knowledge and developing new technologies to be applied to the farming sector. Regarding the technical assistance and rural extension, they are also responsible for promoting dissemination of these technologies, always keeping in mind the social-economic development of the rural producers.
